Took Bonnie out to visit the open house at the local Harley dealership today. Had lots of lookers and positive comments. Most of them thought it was a '60's model, so I had to question the comments " Man, I had one of those back in the day". Well, I guess they say if you remember the '60's you weren't really there. With me it's the early '70's that are kind of fuzzy. One guy did say it was the best looking bike there but he acted a little fried to me. I did thank him, though. By the way, it's a pretty much stock 2007 Bonnie Black with Emgo reverse megs.

Did you get yours from NorthCoast? I got my Bonneville there - Rob Lusak is a good guy.

I would have gone there but they went out of business in December. Their website recommended Joe's Cycle Shop in Dayton. I bought mine there. They seem like good people. Either place was about 75 miles from home. I did get a good buy on a rear tire for my Heritage when Northcoast eBayed their remaining inventory.

Man you are one seriously brave dude. If I took my Bonne to a HD open day I think I would be lucky to make it out the door. I went to one once with my prized Ducati cap on and this fat guy came up to me and said what the hell am I doing. My high voiced response was something along the lines of I wanted to check out the bikes and he seemed ok with this response. He point out he just wanted to make sure because of my hat. What a fat wally. I am going to come back in the next life and make us nerdy types have all the power.

I think you nailed it Commando. A real biker likes and respects all bikes and the people that actually RIDE them not just use them as props to show off their wardrobe, etc.

Sorry to hear that ntr1972, here in the states Harley riders are a bunch of squares. I can't remeber the last time I saw a Harley rider under 50 and not wearing a golf shirt under his leathers. No offense OhioTT, I see you are a bit of a fan.

When I pull up to my local Harley shop on my black beauty, Togas singing a sweet tune, they usually come out and check it with a fine tooth comb :-D But I get the opposite reaction when I pull up with my wife's Sportster with the voyager kit attached (Sportster with training wheels) and decked out in my Triumph riding gear. They look in amazement and much laughter. I look them straight in the eye and tell them I am in training :-D

I would rather be riding my motorcycle reflecting on God's Creation, than sitting in church bored to death thinking about my motorcycle.

We've got a lot of tension between biker gangs in Oz at the moment. There is a funeral in Sydney today and police have warned they will be in full force.

Lifes to short for that nonsense, with any luck open warfare will break out and they'll exterminate themselves.
