I was wondering if anyone has used the product called "Spider" made by Glare Auto polish. The stuff is supposed to take out spiderweb scratches in paint. I sure would like to make my Black's paint look like new, but a can of Spider costs around $40.00. It might be worth it to me, if it really worked.

Also, it's supposed to last for a long time too, according to the description on the website. If I get some positive feedback on it, would anyone want to go together on a can? I'm sure one motorcycle wouldn't use that much. I could give mine the treatment and forward the container to someone else....just a thought.
Thanks.

I used a product called Glare Polish after reading about it in the Reviews here
Glare Review on RatNet
Fortunately I tried it first on my car. Unfortunately, my car is an SUV, and more unfortunately, I hated the stuff. After just a couple of washes, it started looking streaky and awful. I ended up polishing out the entire SUV with Griots Garage Hand Polish, then rewaxing with GG Hand Wax. I was glad that I never put it on my bike. I don't know how the Spider stuff differs, but I didn't care for the original polish at all. I think it requires an orbital polisher for effective application. Like you commented, $35 plus shipping. There are better products available for this problem from Griots Garage, Mequiars, Mothers, and probably many other quality manufacturers. I've heard good things about Mequiars Mirror Glaze followed by Zymol wax. A good polish that is approved for clear coat finishes, if correctly applied with patience (meaning maybe more than once) will usually deal with light scratches. Follow with a good wax.

Zaino Bros makes a complete line of finish products, including a swirl remover that does work. It's very popular with the custom car crowd. If you're interesed, Google the name to get to their website, then you have to find a local distributor. The stuff ain't cheap but I've been using it for several years and been very happy. With the amount of surface area on a bike a single supply will last (probably) longer than you own the bike.

One thing I learned getting into this is to use 100% cotton or really high quality microfiber only. NEVER use paper products of any kind (even Kleenex) or blended cloth as both will leave the spiderweb scratches you describe.

Good luck
