Is there a way of converting the mileage counter to kilometers?
That is without buying a new speedo.
Thanks.
Rhodie

The mileage counter is mechanical there must be a way of fitting a different gear/cog or whatever is turning the counter.
Not the speedo!
Thanks 4 the smile.

seems odd that they would not have the ability to change that easily, as they (at Triumph) are definitely catering to a world market. I'd say drop that one in the suggestion box

Yeah, it would seem that Euro Bonnies would read Kms on the odometer. Can any of our Euro brethren comment? If so, maybe you can source a Euro-spec Speedo and replace your unit. I don't think they are meant to be taken apart, so whether you could just get a Euro-spec gear is iffy.

Canadian spec bikes are in km/hr as well.

That's mine when I got'er :-D

US spec might be in both km/hr and MPH

Not sure...

So I assume your Canadian odometer reads in kilometers? That's what I think he wants to change, the odometer. On my bike the odo reads in miles, and the speedo has an outer ring in miles, and an inner ring in kilometers per hour. The inner kph ring is much harder to read, but it's there at least.
I don't know Rhodie, but maybe there's a company somewhere that does this sort of thing. Maybe a Google?

Sounds like the US & UK speedos are the same, it's possible to get a conversion unit that fits onto the speedo cable (reduction gear?) these are fitted to alot of jap imports in the UK - bikes sold new in Japan, then exported to the UK after a few years. Maybe you could turn the unit upside down to convert MPH to KMH?

Install and GPS that would do it. May I ask why you need to know?
