I'm going to be setting the front and rear sag on my Thruxton this weekend. Anybody got suggestions for starting points? I ride the canyon roads around here, but I'm certainly not what you would call "Joe Racer."

I'm not sure what the sag should be but I do know that my first "gut" reaction was to set the rear shocks to the stiffest setting. (Only the rear is adjustable on the standard Bonneville). Turns out that doing just the opposite gave me a much better ride. One of the long-time veterans on this site (can't remember who) suggested going to the softest setting and trying that. Made a very nice difference!

I think you've got more options on the Thrux.

If you stole it, ride it like you stole it. Otherwise, don't.
