Three options: If you opt for the adapter that goes inside of the bars, you can drill out the existing end plug with a 5/8" or bigger bit. The CRG adapter will fit right into that and the mirrors will hold. The other inside option is to tap the thread in the bar plug big enough to fit the screw of the adapter inside of and do away with the locking puzzle piece of the adapter. The final option is to push the grips in 3/8" and mount the mirrors on the ends of the bars. However, if I recall correctly, the Bonne bars are too big to mount mirrors this way. Good luck, you will like these way better than stock.

SSBonnie,

There are various posts on the topic. I got the CRG LS and the adaptors, sawed off the part of the adaptor that goes in the bar[right at the point where it bevels for the expanders, which you dont need] and screwed the adaptor in using the original screw that came with the original covers using blue loctite - no drilling out the weights or rubber hose. Then, switch one of the CRG's to a right side mirror as instructed [ the hardest part for me] and set them up to your liking. 1000 miles and no problems at all. I faced the adaptor part with the ball and mirror forward so the mirrors extend in line with the bars. Man, I love those mirrors - no vibration and great rear sighting. But you have to get used to "objects are closer than they appear" because they are.

Give a nice, low profile to the bike. Good luck!
