Just rejetted recently and seems I may be off and need some advise.

I have added a 125 main jet and 1 shim. My modest mods are uni air filter, snorkle out, AI removed and Emgo reverse cones.

Finding that the bike feels a bit sluggish in the mid range when first started, once the bikes warms up it seems a lot more responsive in the mid range and runs pretty good. Checked the plugs and they look like I am running rich.

Was just wondering if I should remove the shims and go smaller on the main jet or should I just remove the restrictor plate from the airbox and stay with the setup I have now???

Cheers,

if you remove the baffle, it'll probably run. I'm at 130's with your basic setup but no shim, runs very well

My recommendation would be to start by taking off the shims from the needles, and see how it runs in the mid-range. Don't be surprised if you find you need a little different set-up than other Thrux's with similar mods. A dyno run with EGA is about the only real way to tell where you are mixture-wise in the mid-range. Your main jets should be pretty close for your current set-up. I think 130 would be about the maximum size you could run with that setup.

I forgot to mention: Think of the mid-range as 4000--6000 rpm. Below that and your pilot mixture has some affect. If the area of sluggish feeling is below 4000 rpm, do some adjustments with the pilot screws--try both leaner and richer settings. Above 6000 rpm, the main jets come into the picture.

I had the exact same setup as you and found mid-range to be a little weak. I added an additional shim and it runs much better.
I still intend to get a dyno run eventually
