I seem to recall this was a post a while ago but I can't find it by searching.
Anyone find the key tag flapping about irritating? Any novel solutions other than not having a key tag? I am glad my tag is rubber, as anything else would certainly leave a mark!

The small, stiff, bi-fold style leather, three key holders are the best. Keys are held in by one "chicago" screw. Unused keys are held in by a snap.
Hard to find nowadays, however...couldn't find my old one, so for the time being I'm using one I made which is less than perfect.

p.s. Maybe Tandy leather has them?
p.p.s. If you want to make one...cut two pieces off an old leather belt and get a leather punch. Punch and lace together both pieces on one side, then punch the hole(s) for the chicago screw. (A "chicago" screw is a small brass sexscrew that can be purchased in several sizes at Tandy or a craft shop) Install the snap opposite side of the laces.

I have the one that came with the bike: clear/white rubber, and it does bother me flapping about. I was thinking of the leather fob from NewBonneville; perhaps less movement. Funny how little things annoy us, eh?

PS, I used to use a master link for the drive chain - just in case!

I only have the ignition key and the fork lock key, which has a piece of rubber tubing that slips over the end keeping it from scratching any paint as it flaps around. Ignition is soon to be relocated on top between the mini gauges which may prevent most flapping.

I use a length of 3/8" lindigo leather on my key,
use a bleeding stitch, when I remove the key I attach it to
my key ring.
You can get Lindigo from Tandy Co.

nothing there but the bare key. when I park, I have a small clip on my key ring that the key goes to. the keys I keep on a small lanyard built into the inside of my jacket

I use one of those double ended key fobs. At one end I have the ignition key and it detaches with a parachute pin from the rest which include the alarm, steering lock helmet lock etc. Whilst riding have most of them in my pocket and only the keyring swaying in the wind

I have one of the trangular Triumph fobs and it does, indeed, keep the keys from flapping around and scratching anything.

The only key in the ignition should be the ignition key. You can make a fob by braiding a leather boot lace or something similar, to the key. No flap, no marked up ignition and no vibration / wear in the keyhole caused by wind on dangling attachments. You can even find it in your pocket with a glove on.
The key in the ignition will not fall out during operation but if your link or key chain breaks,....Do you thing you will find your other keys?? Do you think you will even notice they are gone until you stop??
Also carry an extra ignition key in your jacket or wallet.

I'll get off the soapbox now. Thank You.
