Recently my bike has developed a noise coming from the left side of the engine. Sounds like a faint chatter......taking a wild guess I would pick the clutch as the culprit. However the noise is nearly constant both pulling the clutch lever and while it is fully engaged.

I checked the oil level and it is fine and was changed about 1500 miles ago or so.

Any thoughts?

how many miles on the bike? Could be loose valve chatter.

Have you checked the valve lash?

these engines make a lot of noise, if it's running ok and nothing else is wrong I wouldn't worry about it.

Well, speaking of "new" noise, I figure Sweat will give me peace of mind on this one.
Quiet morning in Wis. on a low concrete walled bridge I heard a new higher pitch sound from the rear.
First time I ever heard chain noise bouncing off a wall?? (been riding shaft/belt drives for awhile)

concrete deviders, bridge walls, all bounce the noise back to you, noises you wouldnt notice seem to suddenly appear then go away on bridges.
