So I messed with a new set of high pipes. Still have to address side cover removal, but they sound pretty snarly. Gonna try the de-crossovered low pipes tomorrow.

:-D

It will take a bead ok. The chrome makes the puddle very reflective, which makes it tough on my eyes though.I`d remove the chrome, but then the pipes are as thin as the gas tank. :-D

NTR,I don`t spend any time with the truck at all.I`ve driven it maybe 10 times in the 2-1/2 years I`ve had the Bonnie. When I need it,I turn the key, starts right up,flip the switch to fill the air suspension, and drive it to the dump and back, then park it til next time.At 7mpg,its not my main transport. My 200hp/24,000lb International is what I drive most of the time.[all day at work] so when I ride the Bonnie its like a race car [or bike].I`ve never wished for more power from my bike, because of that big truck. :-D

Ah, Rodburner, but it was a >>beautiful<< day up here in north Snohomish County! Took a great sunny ride up I-5 to Mt Vernon and took my 6 y/o daughter up to the top of Little Mountain to see the views. Tons of bikes out, here!

Rodburner,

Technical welding question: I have a spare (Scrambler) petrol tank which I'd like to make more bulbous, if possible, without destroying it or the welder. Any tips?

ps. back in 1980 my boss nearly killed himself and the apprentice, when he tried to repair a brass tractor TVO fuel tank. I was next door when I heard the bang, lost control of my bladder briefly, I thought the gas bottles had gone off. I found instead Terry giggling over the remains of the now fubar'd vintage tank, the apprentice white as a sheet. Not a scratch on either of em.

JohnyC, adding panels to the tank to get more capacity would be pretty tough.Maybe a Tig set-up would allow you to minimize the heat distortion ,but it would still leave visable seams everywhere because the tank metal is so thin, there isn`t a lot of metal left after grinding it smooth.Maybe an old BMW guppy tank with a Bonnie`s tunnel welded in?
