my 2004 Speedmaster. After reading the directions for about three hours, I removed the stock gas cap and replaced it with the locking cap. So far I have had no problems and I think I probably have an extra 0.03 km/hour because of the cleaner air flow over the locking cap vs the standard cap. I highly recommend it as now I have three keys to worry about losing: the ignition key, the fork lock key and the gas cap key. It's amazing what one will do when the rain won't stop. (supposed to stop today in 3 hours and then get sunny and warm for the next 10+ days. :hammer:

The gas cap was one of my first mods. I made the switch without having to go to the hardware store or come on line here for tech support-pretty impressive for a dolt like myself!
The look is sleek, and to counter the fear of losing the "key" I basically just hand spin it to a taut position.

That's a damned good idea- don't lock it. who would know if it is locked or not, and if they think it is locked they will find a different bike to steal the cap or the gas, or what scares me is adding something to the tank as a cruel, and stupid dumb joke!!!
