you can always pull the snorkel out, cut off the part that goes into the filter and then reinstall the top. Just like not having a snorkel with the same water protection.

OK Wildchild.Out west here it doen't rain a lot I know. I removed the snorkel completely on my Speedmaster and I also cut a hole in the bottom of air box as some say to do.Yes it does breath ALOT better, but you need to rejet with this mod. The other drawback is it {does get water into the air box}!!!! I put a small piece of heater duct hose into the bottom of the air box and so far this seems to help, but as I said we do not get alot of rain. I also have the stock K&N replacement filter.I could not see going with the duel K&N's that do away with the air box completely because of all the dust here in the desert. Opening the air box up does help it breath.I know it's a toss up on what to do. I like the performance though!!! :-D :-D

Hey Jerry,
Most of the info for jetting I got from Dinquas Jetting calculator and BA.Com. I would think you might need to up the jets a bit but not knowing whats in there now, its hard to say.I would recomend removing the AI system if you havent done that already. It will save you pipes from discoloring.

Wildchild, I pulled the snorkel and have NEVER considered putting it back on.

I first trimmed a bit off, then a bit more, and more, and finally it has gone completely and I have enlarged the hole to the size of the hole in the K&N filter.

Trust me, mine runs and sounds heaps better without it. Have had a bit of water sucked in but one day I will silicone a bead around it to fix that little problem.

I had to dyno tune and rejet to get it perrrrfect. :-D
