I'm looking to complement my T100 with a cruiser with maybe a windshield and some bags. America or Speedmaster? I'm looking for comfort and Loudness, of course. Which exhaust? Pricing on the bikes/exhaust? Any help/opinions appreciated...Thanks

The America might look better bagged out with a windshield. The sound is from an 865 and would be similar as such I would think. Pick your favourite pipes.

Now that both bikes have the 865 motor there aren't that many differences between the two. I'd say you should take both on test rides and pick which one you like. Do you want more or less chrome? Which color scheme floats your boat?

If you want noise then the D&Ds are a good choice. I personally like the sound of my Staintunes with the baffles removed. They don't rattle your ear drums, but they sound pretty sweet.

It's hard to tell someone else what they should buy. Ultimately, it comes down to what you personally like.

Like the guys have mentioned earlier, both bikes are very similar in stats with minor changes. I own an America and highly recommend it, but in saying that I have never riden a Speedie.

I have Staintune pipes with the baffles removed and they sound just fine.

Not sure if this helps but at the end of the day its your decision, so test them both and just enjoy riding.

Cheers

Tony

Depends on what year you're talking about. If you are looking at last years models, the 06's, then theres a lot more to consider. But in 07 they changed them and they are much more similar. For example, the america had spoked wheels till 07 when they gave it cast wheels, while the speedy has always had cast wheels. The america did not have a black engine like the speedy has always had till 07. The america's engine was a 790 till 07 at which time they changed it to the same 865cc engine as the speedy. So you can see they are much more similar now.

The main considerations beside which YOU think looks better in th 07's are these....

america has no tach, speedy does

speedy has dual front discs

speedy's seat isn't as good for passengers as america (tho i think it looks way better)

If you opt for an 06 then they are much more different with different engine sizes that also have different cams, mags vs spokes, engine color, etc. I personally think the america looks better in 07 than it did previously, but i think the speedy looks worse now. The paint scheme was much better till 07 IMO too.

I purchased my '05 America for the spoked wheels. Now I would buy whichever one my dealer had on the floor that I liked the color scheme.

Black Speedy W/ BUB pipes of course!! But seriously, you can't go wrong. The speedy looks meaner but you might like the bars being pulled back (america) and that blue and cream color is absolutely stunning. Other things to consider one up or two up riding (although for a few hundred you can buy the other seat and switch them in and out), and as for the tach thing, a stock tach takes only a few minutes and about $60 to put in so..... is that clear as mud?

Buy one.... buy both.... they are both awesome!

I got a 07 America about a month or so ago and I love it. I also got the Sceptre pipes put on it from Team Triumph and they sound great. The price of the bike before hand was about $8500 and then with the pipes and some other smal things it came to be about $10,200.
