Well, I've decided to take the plunge and go ahead and buy a Bonnie. At the dealer here in K.C. they have a 2002 Bonnie with 19000 miles on it that has the 790cc engine and has a few mods on it like a tach, grab bar, gators and highway foot pegs for around $4,500. Or my other option is a new 2007 Bonnie Black that has been lowered and has the red daisy tank cover, red side panels and cam covers. Oh yeah, and about $3,000. more. But looks awesome!

I've read some of the threads about the engines and was just wondering what the thoughts were on the differences of them.

Thanks again.

Drop the Daisy tank cover and get the 2007. I bought my 2005 last Sept with 6200 miles, Predators,King/Queen seat and a couple of other items and paid $5000 w/ no tax.

Beagledog,

What do you want in the bike? You'll buy whichever one you decide on and mod it like mad one way or the other. =)

I haven't added too much, just the high passenger seat, air box removal and the highway bars were the expensive mods and the most useful to me. My passenger is 6 years old and the highway bars are extremely comfortable for my jittery, get-bored-easily legs! The question I guess is on the mileage, maybe? I've heard so many folks from here say that they have no issues with having their bikes have the higher mileage on them. I'm only at 3,500 and loving it, yet my pal has over 15K and has no issues and loves his bike. Choices, choices and dinero! Sorry, no real answer from me.

Mike

beagldog,

Didn't you say the other day that the Bonny Black fit you better ?

If that's the case IMHO then there's your answer. You can get rid of the covers if you don't like them and get some of your money back. Or maybe the dealer will take them off your hands and reduce the price accordingly ?

Whatever YOU decide to do, have fun and ride safe.

A motorcycle has to speak to your heart. If you buy a bike with your brain, you'll just get sensible transportation. Get emotional about this purchase and love the choice you make...

Can't tell you which one to buy, that depends on your likes and personal circumstances. As to the engines, I seriously doubt you will ever be able to tell the difference. When and if you can, time for mods anyway .

I rode an SV650 which I bought used for a year before buying my Bonnie. For my second bike I wanted to buy something new an unmolested and fortunately had the funds to do so. If you have the funds get the new bike, that way you have a better idea of what you are getting.
