I was gifted with a fancy little custom choke knob that would look way better than the cheesy plastic thing that comes standard on my '06 T100. Removal of the original should be fairly simple, but I can't for the life of me get the thing to budge. I'm afraid to muscle it much because I don't want to strip the nut or disrupt the choke mechanism - which isn't exactly the sturdiest part of the machine. I've tried multiple doses of WD40, but nothing seems to free it up. Any advice out there?

there was blue locktite on my choke knob. Be careful to support the choke slide so that it doesn't move/twist while you undo the choke bolt from the slide's threaded hole.
It is stiff and I guess that's good so the knob will not vibrate loose!
Good luck,
Chris

Thanks Chris! I suspected something like that might have been in place. Guess I'll have to get a buddy to help hold the choke slide while I muscle it off.

Is there a product that will free up applied blue locktite?

You should be fine if you just get someone to hold the choke mechanism. Mine also had loctite on it, and instructions to use loctite on the replacement. It was a bit tight when I removed it.

Goodluck....had similar problems on a car I used to own, just about broke everything on that car stripping it to paint it. Should have just taped up everything and painted away. If you don't want the knob you could drill it out though the plastic I suppose. Might be tricky.
