So my wife wants me to get a Gunfighter and Lady seat with a backrest so she can be more comfortable on our rides. I just went to their site to figure out how much it was going to set me back, and I noticed the prices went up: from $299 to $350 for the G&L, and from $699 to $799 on the smuggler. Ouch! That's a steep increase. Anyway to get a lower price on these?

Also, for those who have gotten Corbins, any advice on how to put it together? I've got an Aegean Blue Bonnie, so I'm imagining I just want black - but does anybody have any recommendations on what type of leather for the seating surface, or any opinions about detail? Should I try to get the welts (those are the piping pieces along the edges where the seat surface and sides come together, right?) in a matching blue, or in a white, or just stay with black? Other opinions? I feel like I'm flying blind on this...

look at this way, 350 dollars for a seat and how much did you pay for your bike? Yes seats are expensive, but compared to the whole cost of the bike...... A good seat will let you enjoy that very expensive bike a whole lot longer.. Welting? stick with black, it's classic, doesn't draw to much attention away from the bike and if you decide to sell it, it has a whole lot more byers, then just the color of your bike.

I just got a Gunfighter and Lady (used fortunately$ Thankyou TriumphRat.Net classifieds  ) and went on first two-up ride for about 100+ miles yesterday.

My wife was much more comfortable and I could feel it right away in her riding.

The "gunners" seat being a bit lower, and riding farther back it sort of messed up the ergos for me. I have pretty flat bars, so I need more pull back. I am going to install the stock bars, and I think it will be better.

I liked the stock seat for just me, and was thinking I might switch back and forth. But not if I gotta change bars....

The Gunfighter is sorta begging for rear sets too, being lower and wanting to slide back into the pocket. (I'm 6 foot even)
Hmmm maybe with them I could keep my flater lower bars...OH OH I feel another $300 flying out of my wallet.

My black seat has red piping, which matches my scarlet red tank/fenders. I think the matching colored piping adds a nice touch you might want to consider.

Also, the Corbin backrest is another $300+ I think..I was looking at that too before I hooked up the the used one.

I have the Triumph backrest. (used fortunately$ Thankyou TriumphRat.Net again. Can't believe I scored both this winter  )

Its a bit low, as the Lady seat is up more than the stock. Not gonna lean back on it, but still give that added feeling of security by touching the base of the spine.

Just saw this in Gear and Gadgets forum, for cheaper "Corbin like" backrest.

Clicky - Backrest

Hope this helps...

Avoid the "turtle leather" unless you like ultra slippery seats that will have your nutty buddies and your wife sitting on the tank after your first big handful of front brake !!

I have one already boxed up, ready to ship, with the back rest, I will sell for $350 shipped. It's all black, including the backrest.
