Because of work and location of my Triumph Dealer, I am having problems getting the Bonnie in for its first service. I am currently at 530 miles and I anticipate being close to 700 before getting it in there. Should I be concerned? Any warranty issues etc.?

Thanks,

Ken

you can do it yourself , read your manual check ever thing at the 500 mile check.
do a oil change and new oil filter.
tire pressure check and you should be ready to go .

write the date you did it and the miles on the bike. for your records
next oil change is at 6000 mile or one year.
good luck

You CAN easily do it yourself, but I wouldn't. Get on record going to the dealer for the first checkup, then do the 6000 yourself. Helps to have a dealer record should warranty claims arise, and they will usually come up in the first few thousand miles, if ever.

There is no harm doing the service between 500 and 800 miles. In fact, my dealer prefers the longer interval. I had mine done at 650 miles.

As far as Triumph is concerned, your warranty is valid, provided that you maintain the receipts of the materials purchased to service your motorbike. So don't worry about that. Just get what you need, read the manual and get your hands dirty. Many, many of us have little choice in having the dealership do the work or not, due to location. My closest is several hundred miles away.

If you are mechanically inclined, Id say like the others, do it yourself and record it. But,when I spoke to a dealer about buying a bike I asked about the 600 mile ck and he said they go over the whole bike to include the spokes might need tightening, the chain and maybe some internal adjustments which a lot of people dont want to do themselves. Oil, tires, etc are the easy part.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll do the service myself and if I notice anything I'll take it in to the dealer. What better way to get to know my bike!!!!
