last time i filled her up with 3 gallons and that only took me 90 miles til today when i tapped into the reserve, so 30miles per gallon. Is this kinda low for a bike 1 month old? anything i can do to improve this mileage? I'm still breaking in the motorcycle and ride mainly on city roads.

You're not alone, Kid - I just topped 400 total (***** Missouri weather this past month), and I'm getting about the same mileage. I got 102 on my last fill-up, from topped off to reserve, and I'm doing mainly city riding, too.

Give it a few hundred miles, and make sure to change the oil at 500. The mileage will get better as the engine gets smoother and has less friction.

I agree with TCL. Be patient and break it in probable. The mileage will improve.

So what is normal consumption? At the moment I use about the same as my 4 ltr V6 Jeep Wrangler 4 door....that is only 600 kms old, but that's another story. Of corse it is black as well!

All new owners of a '07 Bonneville Black please raise your hand...

The weather has been so lousy I just finally hit reserve for the first time since I picked up my bike. Can't think about mileage until after I'm riding the bike under normal conditions....which is still about 500 miles away from my first service.

I hope to put those miles behind me by the end of this weekend.

For city riding I have never got more than about 95 until reserve.

Out of town is a different story, I can get to 130 before i lose my nerve & fill up
