My 2007 T100 has 2000 miles on it and theres a little seepage coming from the cam cover. I found some threads on this and it seems its pretty common. What I'd like to know is, has anyone had to deal with Triumph on a warranty issue like this? How did they take care of you? Is it a long process? How was the whole experience? I realize I could probably tackle this problem myself but I feel I shouldn't have to. My dealer is Freehold Triumph NJ Has any one dealt with them on a warranty issue? :hammer:

The reason I have fixed it myself is that it takes longer to drive to the dealer than to do the repair, and my dealer is only 20 miles away.

Freehold has been good to me. I had the gas tank paint peel problem and they replaced the tank - no hassle.

This is an easy fix and if you're not inclined to do it yourself (don't just grab a wrench and tighten) call ahead and see if they'll just tighten the cover down while you wait. If it is already at torque spec then make an appoint to drop it off.
Tomorrow would be like a baaaad day - the Triumph truck is there!

Yes, just tighten the screws holding it on, they loosen up with time (all the hot/cold cycles).

Life is to short to spend so much time having the dealer do something simple like tighten things up or lube the chain for you.

And more often than not they will screw something up.
Many people working at car and motorcycle shops are not someone I would want working on my stuff.

ANTNY - My petcock was leaking three months ago and Freehold replaced under warranty with in a week....but they did have to order the part. The guys at Freehold have always been a pleasure to deal with as well. You could just tighten the bolts to the 10(Nm) torque requirement (as per the service manual....buy one!) and see what happens. It's going to be 75 and sunny today! Hopefully you can get out there and ride! I live in brick if you ever want to ride together.

Cheers,

Rob
