Has anyone done this?

I was thinking about buying the Bonneville tach kit from Triumph and installing it on my Scrambler.

It looks like I need a Bonneville triple crown to fit the instrument cluster plate. I'd also need a white on black face for the tach because the one in the tach kit is gray/black.

Any other differences I'm missing? Would the existing trip reset on my speedo work?

Thanks
cw

yeah, I've been wanting to do this too (I hate the Triumph aftermarket Scrambler tach). It looks like it won't fit straight out, but you need the Bonnie top yoke like you say. Electrics should connect though. If you put the speedo on the left the knob will be accessible - tell us how you go - cheers Pat

Yup, it's nice. I've ridden it. My SM is currently in his shop. I'll ask him about the instruments when I see him. It could be a few more weeks, though.

tach

tried it and spacers need to be made, the scrambler headlight sits higher up than a bonnie.

.
I did it ...

http://www.triumphrat.net/twins-talk...twins-now.html

You need the upper yoke from Bonneville and a housing cup for the scram speedo, Bonneville fits. And you have to mount spacers between yoke and gauge plate. Faces from tach and speedo are the same ...

Cheers

Triumph parts from a dealer are expensive. May I offer an alternative instrument option made by D9:

QUOTE]Ive been looking at that and talking to D9, it does look like the easiest path but Im trying to go with a 7" headlight and think it may make the mini's look even more mini.....decisions decisions
