i am about ti install my front number plate this weekend, but it is still blank for now. i i noticed alot of people have really nice lettering i was wondering if those are decals or if you had gotten it painted on? and if it is painted did you just take it to a auto painter. and if it was expensive.

Mine turned out pretty good, though not perfect. I used some "bumper sticker" paper from office depot, printed out the letters in white on black, cut them out with scissors, and stuck them on the plate. I used an "Italian license plate" font that I found to make the numbers in photoshop. If you are interested, I can email the font to you, or even do the whole thing for you and mail the printout of your numbers for you to cut out and stick on. The only problem with the way I did it is that the numbers aren't shiney, but more of an eggshell or matte finish on them, like paper (they are waterproof though). I'm in Seattle so I've been in the rain very many times with them and they have proven resilient. The font was the best I could find, but it doesn't look like the UK plates I have seen in pictures, but hey, who cares, it cost me nothing but a little hobby time to make them...

They're the numbers from my real license plate. I think I'm gonna do TR790 or UK790 or something like that. I wish the bonnies had a model name like the meriden ones did...

Would you like me to just go ahead and design them for you and mail them off? If so, go ahead and send me a personal message with the numbers/letters you want along with your address and I will send them off to you...

If you go to a sign/banner shop along with your plate, they can computer generate the numbers anyway you want then, font, shadow, arch etc. in vinyl which holds up extremely well. They come pre-spaced and you just use a little soapy water and they go on in one easy step. Shouldn't cost much more than buying individual letter/numbers. This process has replaced hand painted signs and boat names years ago, cheaper and last longer.
