Just did a search and can't find anything on anyone engineering/fabricating their own rearsets for bonnies. With my M-bars and ARK the acceleration is now warranting rearsets for me to give me some more leverage for holding the hell on to my bike when I make it get up and go. And I don't have 4 bills to plunk down on rearsets if I can make them myself. I wonder if there are some other bikes' rearsets that I can cannibalize for the shifter side...

I've wondered the samething myself and ended up ordering the LSL's yesterday from Bellacorse. I'm sure they wouldn't be too hard to make if you have the time and right equipment to do it.

So RaceDweeb, if you're reading this, "put a rush on things buddy, those are mine!" :-D

Good post, Mancha. You may be able to save a little scratch by reversing your shift lever instead of going with the Heim Joint linkage...

Heim joints are the adjustable ends to links that join rearset shift levers to the splined shifter rod. See the url below:
Heim Joints
These are like little universal joints that allow for minor misalignments without binding up. Here is another url with a picture of LSL rearsets that incorporate Heim Joints on the shifter assembly:

Mancha's got the right idea about making adaptor plates. And you can get some UJM sportbike rear sets off of eBay dirt cheap.

Greg, gottcha covered. :-D And I'm always listening... I pay myself to by the hour.

I made these years ago http://www.stabbarps-auto.com/images/REARSET.jpg

Use them on all my own bikes but only sold 2-3 set, I guess they are too ugly :-D I don't sell them anymore but I have a few brackets left, $30 for a pair. Not polished or anodized though.

that Jorgen is a creative rascal

if I botched your name sorry

I thought about trying to peice somethingtogether out of used rearset parts from other bikes then a bud ended up with a few extra Thrux rearset bits and I "thought" I could score just the minimum Triumph bits to have the stock Thrux set................I am an idiot for even thinking that. I would guess even with a few parts left off and a few parts scored on the cheap I still paid $550 or a few pennies more. I wish I would have gone the other route cause I could have used that cash to score other stuff.
