What do you think would be more comfortable?

The Sixty8 Contemporary seat with Cowl

Or the Triumph Solo?

Also how hard is it to put the cowl on? Does it just go over the back of the seat?

Thanks!

The 68 contemp seat and cowl are identical to the standard Thruxton combo. I put the thrux gel seat and 68 cowl on my Bonnie Black, and am very happy. The cowl comes off with two screws...very quick and easy.

So you put the cowl/contemp. seat on a bonneville and it looks exactly like a stock thruxton in the seat area?

The solo seat is much more comfortable but you lose the two up option.

The cowl comes off. It's a banana seat underneath.

Thanks guys, I got both the tank cover and cowl in a deal with the bike, so usually the cowl is $271- i got it for $199, and the tank cover is $366, i got it for $305. (all prices in AUS dollars)

kind of expensive for pieces of plastic now i think about it.......

The solo seat has a reputation as one of the more comfortable replacement seats for the Bonnie, and having had one now for about three weeks, I can say that it's much more comfortable than the stocker. I even sent my stock seat down to Sargents for a super cell foam job and it was still awful. I haven't had a chance to do any longer distance riding yet, so can't say how it handles more than a couple of hours riding time. The Contemporary seat has the advantage of being "convertible," in that you can remove the cowl and ride a passenger or easily strap on a tail bag, then put the cowl on for a cool solo look. But since the Contemporary is relatively new, I haven't heard any comparisons between the Contemporary and the solo as far as comfort. BTW, I ordered the Triumph solo from MADSS, got free Friday shipping, $227 instead of $270 from my dealer (plus 9.5% state sales tax here in TN) and got it in one week. They also carry the Contemporary seat. The solo seat that I got had a Sixty8 tag on it and had the Triumph logo embossed on the rear. I've heard older ones didn't have the logo.
