So that's what it is! I was noticing something really raw, and sporty about some of the bonnie pics that riders have been posting, and I noticed it is that they have removed the rear fender. Very cool look.

How difficult is this to do? I imagine that it means relocating some lights, etc. I'm thinking about getting the triumph solo seat and was wondering what the procedure is?

Also some of the pros and cons that result in this mod.

Thanks!

Mess around with the search feature here, or check out the wiki. There are a lot of discussions on fenders.

I cut my fenders down and painted them black, including new turn signals and stop/tail lamp. That involved re-wiring, which was very easy to do.

There are fender elimiination kits which I never checked into. But several of the pictures look very good.

Removing the fender is a piece o' cake.. simply remove the seat, unplug the connector for the rear turn signals and tail light, and remove the 4 black torx head bolts.

Do n'y let the fender hang free while removing the bolts or it's headed for the ground (guaranteed to scratch the paint). Simpy loosen the bolts, then hold the fender with one hand as you remove the bolts with the other.

In order to totally remove the fender for riding, you'll have to either purchase one of the available kits, or fab something yourself - you gotta have rear tail light and rear turn signals.

Installing NB's rear fender elim kit is a snap. Everything is made to bolt up - but it is quite expensive.

I fabbed a simple plate out of sheet metal to protect underneath the seat, fabbed a simple c bracket for a $10 tailight, painted the brackets black, added led hidden turn signals $20. I had the metal lying around so I only had $30 total in the whole thing. Its simple and easy to do.

Good luck.

How about this one from BellaCorse?

I'm thinking of losing the big stock fender also, but getting something smaller instead of removing it completely.
