I wil be in the Austin/San Antonio area for a week next month. Any recommendations for nice rides? I will have a bike available for one day during the mid week. What should i expect for temps?

Thanks

80-90 degrees. It's been raining a lot lately, but you never know in a month. There are plenty of good rides in town, near town, and within a couple hundred miles of town.

How much time will you have for riding?

if you have 6 hours you could at least make the willow city loop.

Here's a link to mapquest:

Directops to Willow City Loop from Austin

and if you really have some free time I recommend heading from Austin to Kerrville, then to Vanderpool and taking 337 to Camp Wood, then picking up 335 to 41 then you can either cruise some more scenic routes or take 41 back to Mountain home, then onto Kerrville and back to Austin.

Or, if you are pressed for time you could head out of town on 290 West, then hook a left on 12 and check out Wimberly. This route would be about 2-4 hours, you could swing through Blanco to extend the trip, or go back to Austin if you're in a hurry.

The Willow city loop would be about a 4-5 hour trip, and the Vanderpool trip would be closer to 8 hours, but it would be the best one.
