Is this normal? Up until today I was only bluing a little at the top.

After the ride in this morning (a little under 30 deg about 20 miles between 65-80 mph) I noticed a whole lot more blue. My bike only has 350 miles on her, the blue doesn't bother me this is just my first NEW bike so everything is worrying me right now.

Thanks,
Primo

I see you still have the A?I installed. The entire pipe will eventually turn blue unless tyou disconnect it. It happened to my buds Bonne. Mine & another blued just past the 1st bend A?I gone. Your choice. Can always paint/coat the pipe black- problem solved. DX the A/I & the bluing will stop where it is.

My Scrambler has no blue at all on the right-side pipe and so far only a few inches with a golden color. That's at 650 miles with the AI system still installed (which, by the way, I don't think I'll remove). But I didn't run the bike up to 80 mph right away, which seems a bit high for under 500 miles. No doubt others would disagree, but until 500 I went no faster than 70.

If the discoloration bothers you at all, you can always get a can of Blue Job (it comes about a quarter full, absurdly expensive) and start rubbing.

Yep... it's normal. Removing the air induction systems helps by decreasing the exhaust temperature. But the thin wall header pipes will turn blue regardless.

However, until you get some matching black saddlebags... I wouldn't be too concerned about the headers.

Heh, I just threw those on because I freeze in the morning then roast with all my gear on in the afternoons. Once I don't need warm clothing anymore, off they go :nana:

I was hinting at black bags and black headers.
Cause that would look sweet on a Bonnie black.
