For adjusting mixture - Is this a Triumph part, or can something be modified to work.

I think newbonneville carries them - along with other aftermarket parts providers. That said - I modded my own, and it's fairly simple.

I removed the mixture screws (after first covering the top of the engine with a towel to catch any parts that attempt to escape) using a 5.56mm shell casing mashed to sort-of fit the head, then used a Dremel tool to cut a normal slot in the head of the screw to fit a normal screwdriver. Then just use a normal stubby slot-head screwdriver to re-install the mixture screws.

How did you remove the caps covering the mixture screws?

Ignore my last post - I have no blanking plug on mine :chug:

So the challenge is how to remove the jet so I can cut a slot in it. Just looks like a circle of brass with a bit cut out - hence the 'D' I suppose.
I can see how you could use a shell case with one side flattened, but we have strict gun laws in the UK

Chris, here is a post from me I put on here a month ago.
D Shaped Tool
It's easy, it's cheap, best of all, it works.

Thruxtonone gave me a tool he made by drilling a 1/4" shouldered bolt and crimping the flat. Crude but effective.

Agreed. If you're in the UK, buy the D-Tool from Jenks.

Just get a piece of metal auto fuel line and crimp/flaten one side.Fits like a dream and much cheaper than the special tool.
