Hi, as you can see, two entires in a row, I've been spending some QT (quality time) with my Bonneville Black today.
I got a tacho/rev counter fitted as a option extra, the bracket is silver. I am thinking about getting this powder coated black. I just think it would look better.
Has anyone done this and regretted it later? Thanks in advance.

ntr,
Can't go wrong with black - here's a pic of
a prototype lay-flat dual gauge bracket...
Cheers,

I just had a question to add on this, how important is the taco?, im getting a standard bonnie and thinking about adding it, but it could blow budget so i would appreciate any feed back on the real uses of it, i understand knowing what revs the idle is is important.,,,, anything else?

Hey D9,
Where'd you get the tach with the black gauge face from? As I understand it, the T100 has white gauge faces on the speedo and the tach, and the Bonnie Black has a black speedo... I didn't know Triumph made tach with a black face.
Also, did you fabricate that bracket yourself? ...It looks awesome.

No, the Thruxton has white faces, but the T100 comes standard with black-face gauges just like the Bonneville and Black. The standard accessory tach for the Bonneville / Bonnie Black is black, and is identical to the T100 tach.

PaleForce,
Thanks! A small initial run of these brackets is in the final phases of production - complete brackets with spacers & hardware should be ready to ship in 2-3 weeks - should be a nice mod if you find the stock bracket a bit obtrusive, really gets the gauges down nice & low, improves the lines of the bike and gets it closer to a classic Bonneville look - currently planning on offering them in silver as well as black - cost TBD - email if you're interested in one...
Cheers,
D9

D9, when you lower the clocks, does anything interfere, such as cables?

Balto - no clearance issues with cables - but - the one mod that needs to be done - and it's an easy one - is that you'll need to drill - or dremel - one hole in the black plastic indicator housing that fastens to the underside of the bracket to allow clearance for the gauge wiring.
Currently that wiring cluster passes through a long, open vertical slot at the back of this cover - with the lay-flat bracket, the wiring will need to exit from the middle of the underside of that plastic cover instead of through the far end - that's it. Here's a pic - I've drawn a white circle is where the rerouted wiring needs to pass through, instead of through the vertical slot:
Will post a DIY when these are ready to travel - stay tuned...
Cheers,
D9
