Smile Candy...That's what I call my Bonnie now. Air Box Elimination, Straight pipes, Re-Jet, Upgraded shocks...among other modifications, I took'er out for the Full Run! The idle was high and the carbs needed to be sync'd, so I headed over to my friends shop. Had to go to Downtown Portland for that...so I was able to jockey through the sky scrapers and hear my pipes bellow with joy!! Pedestrians all over pointing and shouting nice bike! Even got a group of Construction workers to gather and give me the thumbs up...I hope they were talking about the bike! Just kidding...Anyhow, I had to pull over to let the bike cool...The stop and go and high idle caused her to get up there in temp...around 240-245 degrees (never any higher)...I just did an oil change on Thursday with Full Synthetic and it was only hot for about 10-15 minutes when I shut it down to cool at my buddies shop. I was a little worried at first but multiple Technicians at the shop and two phone calls later, everyone said that it wasn't bad for a Full Synthetic (Recently changed at that) Air cool motor...at least I wasn't running all out on the freeway for 100 miles? It cooled down as soon as I parked her and my buddy sync'd the carbs and checked the idle. So after he does that, What a difference...the pipes are louder (good), throttle response is friggin amazing, and the burbbling at decel is intoxicating!! Hit the freeway, acceleration is night and day...the bike just keeps moving (no lag) through the gears! Stopped by my wife's work...had lunch. Rode home...and now she is resting in the garage.

So what do you folks think about the "Getting Hot" thing? I was told not worry about it...It didn't get anywhere near the break down temp of the Mobil Full Synthetic, it was only that hot for about 15 minutes TOPS, and the bike runs amazing...Your feedback on the subject is appreciated!!

I LOVE THIS ***** MOTORCYCLE!!!

Oh yeah, I had a Post Man tell me it was the nicest Restoration he has even seen...I told him it was an 06, and he was speechless!! One of the guys at the Ducati Shop (Where my friend works) said it looked like a Classic Hot Rod Motorcycle...Just what I was going for!!

240/245 is hot, but you shouldnt worry. When it get's hot enough that the clutch begin's to slip.....worry.

Revolt, how do you know the temperature? Do you have one of those gauges that replace the oil filler cap? I'd like to have a temperature gauge, but I don't want the oil-filler-cap-replacement one...
