Just got my new TORs today. My initial observation is that they are a very high finish and the quality looks good. On holding them up to the light and eyeballing internally, I am surprised to see they are completely straight-through without any impeding baffle what-so-ever.

I decided against the Staintunes because of expense and also the fact they are supposed to be louder - I like character but not loud. The Staintunes also have a removable baffle for even more noise. The TORs have none in the first place and are quieter than the baffle-in Staintunes - how can this be?

I guess the only thing to do is put them on and see.

I got my TORs put on even before I took delivery. For me they are the perfect balance between loud and over the top. A really nice bark and throaty growl. Anything has got to be better than the standard sewing machine sound and TORs are a must have mod in this regard. I managed to sell my original mufflers on ebay for $150. Let me know how you go when you finally get them fitted.

I had mine installed before I took it home, too. I really dig the TORs, but I'm keeping my stock units. I may gut them later for a really open sound.

They will be on this weekend. Then all I need is some decent British weather - yeah right - and I'll be riding off to do some real-life observations. What we need is some of your Tassy weather over here.

I just remembered that there's a Target store about 1 mile from my house with an underground garage.

Think I'm going to hold an impromptu concert this weekend.

They have a really nice sound....not too loud. You can also feel the extra power in the mid range. You are going to like them!!!

I had the standard pipes on for two weeks then had the tors fitted. The change in noise was brilliant especially backing off. Wonderful cackle. I wouldnt mind it a touch louder though but i get along with the neighbors and am an early starter. Enjoy those pipes they make all the difference

I really like my TOR's, they really growl at throttle. They out louder than stock, but not "loud". They don't "need" to be "loud".

Plus, you can usually find them in the classifieds or on e-bay for roughly $250 or so. You can't beat that.

Tassy? Interesting. I'm assuming that's a Yankee reference I've never heard of. Please elaborate on that one, I hate to be out of the know.

TCL,
I believe Tassy is short for Tasmania.
