The owner's manual recomaends something called Mobilube HD 80. Has anyone tried it? Comments? I'm having trouble finding that exact product. Tips?
A Honda-riding friend of mine tells me to stay away from the chain wax and use transmission oil (I think that Mobilube HD 80 is just that). Comments?

OK, sorry....Let's talk about Transmission oil/lube....if something happens to the chain, I'd like to stay close to warranty recommendations...With O rings present, a chain lube that is up to specs, synthetic, and clear, suits me fine...Hope my humble opinion helps...

I don't think chains and sprockets are covered by the warranty. Neither are brake pads - not for excessive wear anyway. And it would take a pathologist to figure out if you used the wrong chain lube. Don't worry - just use good stuff! Lard not recommended....

Has anyone tried the Mobilube HD 80 stuff? Is it the same as Mobilube HD 80W-90?

I use Dupont Teflon multipurpose lubricant. Comes in 11 ounce can for about 6 or 7 dollars. Saw it reviewed on a bike site somewhere and it has been great. Also works great on anything else in the house like locks, hinges, etc. I think I bought it at Amazon.

The DuPont Teflon stuff is great! I switched from lots of other stuff to this and it is clean and really does the trick! I got it at Lowes or Tony Stewarts store. (H-D)
