Hello again...since reading some threads on this site and others I have decided there is a valid need for a tach on my America. The TB bikes seem to produce better results at higher RPMs than I would imagine...SO

I dont have the shop manual yet but will probably acquire one this weekend if I can.
In the off case I can not get my hands on one this weekend....do any of you have any tips on installation?
* I assume I need to remove the bezel to install and plug it in.
* Any tips on doing this...I would hate to break that bezel or anything else for that matter.
* My dealer told me there was a plug for it ready and waiting. True or false?

Thanks in advanced for your input.

IF you are talking about the triumph tach, then yeah it is totally plug n play. The console comes off with 3 screws, might have to take the gas cap off (and put it back on to prevent losing a screw in the tank). Not sure about the blank plug tho, I think it just pops out from the back.

If you are talkin the drag specialties aftermarket tach, different ballgame, but I like mine

zmillin, be careful when tightening the bezel as it is plastic and the screws can strip easy if you don't start them square. The plug is there and T shipped my tach with a wire in case I needed it. The job is as quick and painless, enjoy watching your motor run.

awesome...both of you were very helpful.
Yes its a Triumph tach.
In my younger days I used to be a car-audio installer so i know the perills of plastics and overtightening...love that sound of cracking plastic :kck: its right up there with a kick in the nads.
