I've put in some hard days on the Thruxton running mid 80s to mid 90s. The twin seems perfectly content.

rc,

Those are tough questions to answer.

Some people have 16 17 18 19 tooth countershaft sprockets which affect the rpm's. Also if the rear sprocket has been changed to another size that would also affect the rpm's.

I have a 19 tooth c/s sprocket on my T100 and 75 mph is around 4500 rpm in 5th gear as best as my memory serves me. I don't normally ride at speeds much greater than 75. So I can't tell you about higher than that.

Well I don't make a habit of going over 70 much, but at 4000 rpm's with an 18T I'm doing about 67 mph. I had a 19T on my 2001 and it was close to 70 at 4000. Lowered the rpm's about 500 or so. I'm thinking about going that route again. $20.00 for the sprocket, very cheap.

With the under rated rev limiter, the engine basically cant hurt itself. It will go as fast as you want to . I personally cant deal w/ anything over 75-80 as a continual cruise. Too hard on the body(wind buigs etc.) Dont worry you cant hurt it- unless you down shift to 1st going 70mph of course. It wont over rev!! Ride on & enjoy!!
