Interesting possibility....

Mountainbike handlebars have a 1" clamp size but (usually) 7/8ths grip area.

So possibly you could use a Mountain bike (or BMX) handle bar on a Bonneville and use Thruxton controls (and therefore brakes and front wheel).

I would expect the strength of mountain bike handlebars to be fine for normal motorbike road use.

Of course the pinch point is the width of the clamping area.

go on shoot me down in flames or tell me half of you have all ready tried it.

:-D :???: :-D

Good bit of lateral thinking - but you still have the bar clamp problem -you might find the 7/8" bit isn't long enough to accomodate the Triumph bits. HD bars are 1" - so if you want a change you can probably find the right shape amongst the thousands of different bar types available for HDs. (Just don't tell anyone!)
I'd be a bit worried about trusting push-bike bars - though 'proper' mountain bike bars are probably OK.

you could use the Thruxton brakes and front wheel with the bonnie controls. The brake line should bolt up to the bonnie master cylinder just fine. But why would you want to use Thrux front brake and wheel? Certainly expensive, and there are aftermarket bits that are better and cheaper.

I think you would need to carefully investigate the strength of some of those mountainbike handlebars. Some of them are made to break and bend at certain levels of force for safety's sake.
