Need a little help here...

Okay, so I've outlined the Triumph logo on the back of my seat in gold paint.

Now, I've been wanting to add a Scrambler gel seat for a long time....but I don't want to spend the cash on it. The reason why I want one is for the white piping around the side of the seat. For me, the white piping adds a real old-school look to the bike....sorta like the 59 Bonnie.

My question....should I use the gold paint pen to add a thin gold line around the stitching of the seat?
Should I grab an "antique" white pen and try that instead?

Would white and gold look dumb? This is one of those "can't turn back now" jobs that I don't want to mess up.

If anyone has photoshop, I would really appreciate it if you could outline the side of the seat (where the side meets the top) in gold and white.

Thanks!

Looks awesome man. Kinda wish I'd outlined mine instead of inlined it, but at 70mph, who cares?

Thanks SCCT!

Yeah.....that is what I was thinking....But does the white and gold look dumb together...too many colours?
Should I do the inside of the Triumph in white also? Would that be too "busy"?

I don't know......

It has potential...but I don't want to screw it up....

I tried filling the lettering with the same color white as the piping I botched up..( lol )...imo it's over the top.

I think the piping alone would look good man...old school become's new school :-)

Mark,

I think the white piping looks good. However, I think you would be touching up the white paint every 3rd ride or so due to the paint being rubbed off by your legs. Maybe just spend the cash and recover the top section and use white piping, just my 2c worth.

Couldn't a upholstery shop apply white piping pretty cheap?

hmmmm....those are very good points.....

The threading below the black piping on my seat is black. I wonder if there is a cheap way to get just the thread white. That would look neat and very low key....

Maybe I will have to take it to a professional....darn....

As good of a job that you did on outlining the lettering in gold on the back of the seat, I'm sure you could buy a ultra fine white marker and spend a couple hour's just "whitening" the stitching...just to see if you like it or not?
