Anyone know any more about this than a cool looking picture?

http://store.motorcyclegearshops.com/sa-a9628014.html

Will it fit the America if I have the 07?
Is a dual disc setup really any more beneficial ... more so to spend the extra $$ for the upgrade?

I think the double disks are nice, but not necessary. Lot of bucks that I would put into progressive fork springs and upgraded shocks first. YMMV. The America/Speedy platform is very stable, but softly sprung when really pushing it in switch backs etc. Try her for a few rides as you get her broken in and decide then in MHO.

A great supplier (several support site) is linked

here

Pads and floating rotor adds good upgrade w/o adding another disk.

Good luck.

How do the floating rotors help?

Good advice though. I'm "that guy" that loves to customize and make it mine (as I'm sure a lot of other folks here are the same). I have been searching this forum for the last few days just trying to read as much as I could and get up to speed on the bikes and what makes them so great. I'M starting to think its partly the bike Adan partly the folks that ride them.

The brake pads alone will do a LOT for stopping. I got the floating rotor too. Love it. Not worried about warping! Nice positive stops all the time.

The one part on my bike I had replaced under warranty was my front rotor, very minor warping and replaced with no questions asked. I ride in the mountains with some very good riders on bikes that are much quicker than my America (Speed3, Yamaha FJ1300 and a couple of BMW K bikes). Everyone rides at "their" pace etc. In my desire to keep up I really push the "stock" suspension and brakes. I think I just overheated and warped the front disk during an extensive series of tight down hill turns. The floating rotor helps maintain a better more consistent contact surface as it can "float" due to it's design (better contact, more efficient slowing causes less heat, look at a Sprint or S3 at the dealers next visit). The better pads have better bite, less fade due to heat build up compared to OEM pads. Better suspenders work in conjunction with the better stopping ability. Nothing wrong with OEM parts, but they are set up for "cruising" in MHO. Nothing bad with that as it is a Cruiser, LOL. Braided lines also assist if you decide to upgrade. IMHO if you upgrade, all parts in the system should be done together as they directly compliment each other and it is a synergistic affect if you will. Over simplified, but hopefully there is an answer in there someplace. :-g

Your bike will ride and handle better with the single brake and rotor.

Dude Bob used "synergistic" in a sentance, awesome!! And he's right Also one disc is lighter than 2. And the floating rotor is lighter than stock. My stock one is a clock now.
