It looks like the only differences between the T100 and the Bonneville Black are the paint, tach and engine chrome. Is it worth the $1300 difference?

Chrome is beautiful,
try to put all that stuff that comes on a T100 on a Black as an afterthought for under $1300...........

Blacked out engine is handsome, and the bike has a more "retro" look to it. There are those of us who HAVE TO HAVE a tach', however THESE bikes don't need a tach unless you've done some power mod's to it.

What you SHOULD be asking about though is:
Why should I buy the Thruxton even though I would have to spend extra money for comfortable/upright bars?

The Thruxton is a vastly superior "value".
Have somebody who likes to type list everything the Thrux' has that the other Bonnie's don't.......

I agree with FATT-I was going to buy a Thruxton but no one had the bar raising kits that I could find. My DAD ( Dumb A$$ Dealer) did not know of any way to change the bars at the time so I bought the T100 and made it into a Thruxton with "M" bars. I am still working on the brakes. All in all I am pretty happy with the result. Maybe I will get a used Thrux anyhow!!

Worth it to you or me? It depends if you like chrome or the black look. When you compare the Bonnie Black, T100, Scrambler, and Thruxton together there just isn't a ton of difference. So it comes down to the look and attitude that's makes up the mind. I bought the Scrambler because I love the high-pipe retro dual role look. The high-pipes set it apart from most other bikes on the road and it's nice to be a little different. As far as dual purpose, I doubt mine will see dirt.

For me, the Bonnie Black is bad A$$ all the way. With a few upgrades the ones posted on this board look awesome. The T100 is a fine piece of art also.

However, Black is bad to the bone....

For me it's the black, also fortunately for me I bought a 790cc version..( '06 model )...new. I say fortunate because it's under the 900cc mark, so my insurance rate is less than for a T100.

I'm not into shiny stuff, it does have it's place on a motorcycle. Just not to the extent the T100 offer's it, my opinion only of course.

Truth be known, unless your one of the very few around here your going to do lot's of stuff to the bike to personalize it. I've got HD money wrapped up in my '06 black for sure, and I've not felt 1 ounce of regret...ever.

Just to add one more detail. T100 comes with knee pads and basic bonneville does not.
