I have a 2005 Bonneville Black, I plan on installing a set of D&D meaphones.. What jet sizes do you guys recommend, I plan on using the stock air box for now....

I bought my Bonneville in December 2006 it was a girl owned bike, It looked like it came off the show room floor with.... 150 Miles on it.... $4,600.00... I probably should have been wearing a mask... So the mods begin..

I left the Ducati world behind.. cost and dealership GONE.. Manchester NH????

Thanks

Tech,

You are aware that those D&D's are extremely LOUD.

I have a set and I wear a full coverage helmet w/ear plugs and they are still to LOUD.

I just thought I'd mention it to you.

As far as what jetting to use, I have no clue my was done by the dealer when I picked up my bike, and I'm not smart enough to ask such questions.

About all you are going to get from the D&D pipes is noise if you do not open up the intake with a NARK kit. Then you can start jetting for power, etc. Would recommend you look into the NARK and then go with 135/42 with 2 1/2 to 3 turns out .

Just the pipes is probably gonna be close to stock.

I'm not sure I agree. open pipes, 42 pilots and 125 mains and a stock air box runs quite nicely, and an improvement over stock for sure.
you are just jaded

For your consideration (results/mains may differ):

(I edited the below readings recently when I realized my error... brain fade)
Rip off the snorkle.
Replace the factory air filter (or not) with a K&N or Uni.
Replace the mains with some (*125's) or some *135's,
go for a ride..... and if it sputters between throttle on/off, add a shim or two.

- or -

Stick some Thruxton needles in there, they're cheap!
Try some 125's.
Replace the pilots with some 42's (they're a bear to get out)

- and/or -

Tear into your air box and rip out the divider plate,
put a cheap (smaller) Polaris bellmouth on your intake, or an expensive (bigger) Norman Hyde bellmouth,
and try some 130's.

I'm running stock airbox, snorkel out, bellmouth on, uni filter, D&D cans. Brent at NB recommended 135 mains, 42 pilots, about 2.5 to 3 turns out. His recommendation was good and the bikes fuel metering seems to be spot on. Runs great.
