Been off the board for quite sometime, but spent the winter fixing up the Bonnie Black that I added to the Goodwood Green in October...pics to follow. So, I'm walking across 14th Street in Manahattan from a meeting a few weeks ago, and smack dab in the middle of the sidewalk, sits a spectacular gleaming Bonnie, done up as the 'Revolver' in the 68 line. Say what you will about the metrosexual angle, but this bike, sitting in it's glory in the middle of the sidewalk on a blustery winter day in NYC was like a wonderful dream.

A gruff dude was standing next to it, with an enclosed trailer parked on the street. I asked him if it was his...nope. I asked him who's it was...I dunno. I asked what it was doing there...I dunno...OK...I walked around it, admired it, considered it a blessing and a sign...and went on my way back to the subwway and smiling broadly. Strange but true....

Anything even slightly beautiful stands out on the streets of Manhattan. Still, your ability to see it in the brief window of time before it was stolen or spray painted my vandals is extraordinary.

How cool is that? I wonder if it belongs to someone here?

There's a cycle shop in the city that specializes in British bikes, I think around alphabet city. Anyone know the name?

Wow, Sheepdog, did you get mugged coming out of Le Miz back in the 80's or something? Or watched Taxi Driver a few too many times? NYC 2007- America's safest big city!

Really, it does amaze me how many top- shelf cars and bikes I see in NY every day. I guess if you can afford a Lambo, you can afford the suspension and body work needed after each visit!
