Popping on decel is called a "lean pop." It doesn't mean your mains are too lean, but perhaps your mixture (since the bike is essentially falling to idle when you release the accelerator). And it actually doesn't even mean your mixture is too lean, because when your bike is idling it could be perfectly fine. It just means you're creating a temporarily lean condition in the motor when it's falling to idle. To correct it, I'd put the snorkel back in or bump up the pilot jets to 42s.

I'm running TORs, snorkel out and K&N air filter with 120 mains and 42 pilots (plus 19T sprocket). No popping here. Consider the K&N if you're going to keep the snorkel out.

My Vespa ET4 has a Ti-Force exhaust which pops lean on decel occasionally, but after 6000 miles it has suffered no noticable detriment.

Hope that helps.

I am soooo confused about *POP* on decel..... Seems the only bikes I've had that DON'T pop or sputter on decel, are bikes that have a completely stock factory exhaust system..... and even THEN, I use to spray water up the can to encourage burning out the packing and get more 'noise'..... AND then it would sputter on decel'.

So I've given up trying to look for and seal air leaks where my after-market can hooks up to the factory header, I've stopped using "popping on decel" as a symptom significant of improper jetting, and as I continue to read these posts about popping and sputtering, I'm not convinced that a diagnosis can be made over the Internet.

Instead, I've learned to LIKE the popping noise..... makes me sound more Ricky Road Racer!

I agree, I like the popping. I think it may have been there before my mods, just more noticeable with the louder pipes. If I want it to go away I just pull in the clutch and coast.
