I love 'em, they look ESPECIALLY cool in the rain! Here in Kalifornia it's a bust though.... and maybe the authorities have been enforcing the law 'cause just don't see them on the road (anymore).
Seven years ago I installed them in the (red) turn signal lenses of my Harley, but I think you need a larger red lens to fully appreciate the resulting effect. And oddly enough, that cool glow can not be appreciated up close & personal, you gotta be a bit of distance back....
========================================
I recently used some 'stain glass window' color treatment to make my amber lenses red (I have them hooked up to double as supplemental brake lights). If I stumble onto some amber dots (yes, they make 'em), I may stick those in the center of my now red turn signal/stop light lenses.... That way the flashing signals may be made more conspicuous via the amber dot. I recently learned from a fellow rider that my amber turn signals didn't register in his mind's eye as BRAKE lights when they were engaged, thus my having colored them red.

People think I'm crazy, but I see the same Neon glow of the blue dot/red lens effect, coming from the distant glow of a red car with it's headlights on.....?!? Somebody wanna 'splain THAT to me?
