Noobs first post, hello everyone.

Can anyone suggest any websites or UK based wheel builders/sellers where I might be able to get decent alloy steel spokes fitted to my wheels, or new wheels of a standard or close to standard size?

I've seen the SV650 wheel thread and they look good, but is the rear wheel okay being used in the wrong direction?

Secondly, if I keep the standard wheels/sizes, can anyone reccommend some tyres good enough for track days as the standard ones just aren't up to it. I've only really found pirelli sport demons in the right size.

thanks,

Kurtis.

I'm the one doing the SV650 wheels, the rear wheel has a cush drive similar to the stock Triumph rear wheel, and from taking it apart and looking at it, it works the same way in either direction, which would make sense as it's cushioning the driveline shock from heavy acceleration and braking.

works great either way. now to fit the bastard!

Nice work, but it wasn't the cush I was thinking of. Most wheels are made with a specific direction in mind, indicated by a cast arrow in the spoke wall usually.

I don't think it will matter as much as a tyre direction will but it is something I had thought about.

Can I ask, do you know how much the SV wheels weigh? without discs, cush and tyres, but with spacers and bearings?

thanks!

I'm weighing everything this weekend, I'll post back.

Also, the wheels are totally symmetrical, so I can't see any problem running them in reverse.

Thanks for the info!

I'll take a look at some SV wheels, I've looked at RS250's and such but the wheels looked directional which worried me. A chap I work with races SV's so I'll see if he has any spare.

thanks!
