Good evening!

Many of you have taken advantage of our 50% off sale and WOW! things did move quickly. We COMPLETELY SOLD OUT of all of the items we had in stock.

Because we got such a HUGE rush of orders and interest from the general public, we are going to extend to all of you a discount of 20% on all items on our website thru Monday 2/5/07 at 4pm. Please allow (2) weeks time for delivery as we have to order these items as orders are placed.

If you placed an order when we had everything marked down 50% we will honor that price and will ship you your item(s), GUARANTEED!

We certainly did not expect such a HUGE turnout and thank you for your business.

I appreciate your offer, but I am disappointed. I thought the original offer was good through the weekend, or at least until the end of today - Saturday, as posted on this website. I placed my order just a short time ago, but the prices changed to reflect the 20% discount instead of the 50% discount. Needless to say, I cancelled my entire order. I didn't expect to find a 50% off sale, but since I did I feel very frustrated that the offer didn't allow me to take advantage of it, expiring before the supposed cutoff time

It DID say..."50% off all in stock Triumph merchandise", so I find it understandable that once all items were sold out that the sale would no longer be running. I also find it very fortunate that MotorcycleGearShops was willing to extend a 20% discount to those who missed out on the "in stock items" at 50% off. Don't get me wrong, I understand that you are frustrated...but I don't believe you should be taking it out on them. I chose to order ASAP and not wait since I knew orders would be flying in and these items wouldn't last long.

Just my 2 pennies... Thumbs up to MotorcycleGearShops for an excellent sale! :-D

I too am very disappointed, your ad said the cut off date was Monday 2/7/07 at 4pm. I was waiting on a call back from your staff which never came, to see if the items I wanted were in stock.

At 20% off that puts you within range of Coweta and Madss. Not to mention that I probably wont have to wait 2 weeks with no tax and free shipping. So I guess they will get my money. You might mention to your staff that retuning calls is just good business.

I saw a few disparaging posts about this offer/vendor in the original thread, but it appears to be legitimate and it clearly stated that the 50% discount applied to items in stock. I suppose we can second guess whether the vendor actually did sell out but I would lean towards giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Of course, it's frustrating to miss out on a good deal, but I would hope that other vendors, seeing the success of this sale, might be motivated to do it themselves from time to time, and not be dissuaded by too many of us lashing out.

Yeah, good points, but I'm firmly in the "I feel abused" camp. I find it odd that at 09:30 am Pacific time on Saturday morning there was still huge amounts of stuff available at 50% off. Then two hours latter (when I'd finally persuaded the wife I needed another new jacket), they have sold out of EVERY SINGLE THING in stock, and it's all back to full retail. Now it's apparantly all back to 20% off, but they have absolutely no stock whatsover to sell. Hmmm.

Yeah, stinks to my cynical soul, but I really do hope they come through for you lucky earlybirds. Seems there's people with good and bad things to say about this outfit, I hope the moderators keep an eye on this questionable Sale.

As did I - I've had a list of the accessories I wanted for a long time and I've been on the lookout for a good deal. Seems that they are always marked at MSRP wherever I look. So when I saw the sale I started typing my order while other people typed their conspiracy theories. Now I'm very glad I did!

I had dealt with them before, so I had already done my homework and knew that they were a legitimate business. They were very responsive to my previous inquiries, but I don't think they were as overwhelmed as I am sure they were when this sale was announced. I chose to order first, and then post.

In reference to T-Ray's comment about having to convince his wife to let him order a jacket, I ordered first and then let my husband in on it. Hepled that he was out of the country at the time, and also that I ordered a fly screen that he had been lusting after. Oh yeah, and I ordered a summer jacket for me too. He will find that out when he gets home and opens the box.

I posted earier about my frustration, which not only remains but grows into full blown anger.

Everything sold out - even the Cross Pen and coffee mugs - WOW that was some sale - probably the most successful in history, and all that in less than a day!!

EVERYTHING SOLD OUT?! And did so exactly at the same time? I'm not a conspiracy nut, don't expect dealers to lose money, and don't expect Santa Claus to visit my home, but I have been the victim of bait and switch advertising, have had "loss leaders" pulled after one item sold, and generally don't like to have my chain yanked. Was my chain yanked - you bet. Sorry, but that's how I feel about it.

If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck. If the dealer had lots of inventory across all items, advertises on a TRIUMPH forum (technically in violation of the posting rules by the way) and then ALL of it is gone AT THE SAME TIME and ends his sale after less than 24 hours, draw your own conculsions. I've drawn mine.

By the way, I had the items in my cart at the 50% off price, and when I went through checkout, the sale failed and a message posted that each item was out of stock - every single one. Kinda funny that the dealer said he'll honor the prices. How can he if the system doesn't even recognize things placed in the sales cart at checkout, and which were placed there at the discounted price?

Oh wait, it's not a problem with the checkout cart, just wait for each item to reappear at 20% off instead of the original sale at 50% off. The cart works now!! Inventory restocked by magic? I think not. Angry, no not me, I passed angry a long time ago. Can't wait for the next sale - wonder how long that one will last - I better start my speed typing course now. Just what I'd want if I were a businessman - the entire Triumph board buzzing about whether or not I'm a scam artist.

As someone said, let's give the dealer the benefit of the doubt - after all there wasn't a problem with actually ordering the merchandise, the problem is that we're in a time warp, and we didn't realize that it's Tuesday, the day after the sale ended.

OK, I feel better now. :hammer:
