Hi Everyone,

After resisting for eight years my wide says "If I can have a dog, you can go out and buy ANY second motorcycle you want". Ah, the art of negotiation. So after looking at many, many bikes I purchased a 2007 T100 in Black and White last Saturday. I just love the looks of this bike! The puppy joins our family in March as does the Bonnie.

This is my tenth new motorcycle (been riding for 37 continuous years) starting at 10 years old and I must say this forum is the best I have ever seen. Full of great information.

As I delve into customizing my bike (I just placed my first order with Brent at New Bonneville) hopefully I can add my two cents.

So, you don't have the bike yet and your already customizing? You are one hooked biker. Whats your riding season? We just had a touch of ice here in Austin and the entire city shut down. Can't imagine having three or four days of snow and ice.

Grayghost, just curious: have you ridden one of the new Bonnevilles yet? If so, how would you sum up your impression? After putting around 2800 miles on mine the year I got it, I'd characterize it as "civilized." But it's got the unmistakeable presence of a British twin, and speaks to me in the same language the originals used.

Still trying to figure out the reply function.....I'm new to this.

Bhakti-rider was asking if I had ridden one of the new Bonnevilles yet. I haven't. I test drove a 2006 Thruxton last year which has the same 865cc motor with a 360 degree firing pattern, so I imagine the "pulse" of the motor will be quite similar.

I loved the Thruxton but my body just can't do the hunched over thing any more (bad shoulder). I went back and forth between customizing a T100 or modifying a Thruxton with Heli bars or one of triple tree kits but I felt I was changing the look a little too much. (Just my opinion....I have seen many beautiful Thruxtons on the web with this done)

The motor I find very smooth, but needs to be opened up as everyone seems to agree. I am having TOR pipes installed complete with an AI kit prior to delivery. The sound speaks to my soul. I DON"T want a motorcycle that is so refined as to be perfect. It has to have nuances and a personality.

Hey Big Rick,

I purchased the T100 from the boys at Sturgess Cycle in Hamilton. They seem like stand up guys and the experience has been good so far.

I ALMOST put down a deposit with McBride Cycle just before they closed their doors! Talk about dodging a bullet. (For those of you not from the Toronto area, McBride was one of the oldest dealers in Canada and served the M/C community for the better part of 100 years and then went belly up)
