This may have been posted before, but can anyone help. Today during a long ride my bonnie just died on me, I thought it may have been dirty fuel and someone suggested opening the fuel cap, where I was able to start the bike, but continually thought the journey I had to slacken the fuel cap to let air in.

I would say there was an obvious fault with either the breather valve or pipe routing. Is there an easy option to overcome this problem?

Many thanks
Taffy

Sounds like you might need a new gas cap. See your dealer, it should be covered on warranty.

Check your breather line under the tank.

Click here for a drawing, it is #21

Make sure the line isn't pinched & I guess you could take the valve off to see if it works without it. If you can take the valve off & it runs normally, have your dealer get you a replacement valve.

Remove the cap and suck on it. No, it's not a joke, the breather valve is in the cap and it's known to get stuck

Looks like it's the fuel cap that's giving me the trouble. That site for the schematic diagrams is fantastic.
Thanks everyone
