I was looking through some previous posts, and I found that Shorty had made his own brackets to mount a Cobra 02-3500 rear rack on his existing high Triumph sissy bar assembly. I've been considering doing something like this, and think that rack looks pretty sturdy and as nicely made as any I've seen.

Shorty says he made the brackets from 0.090 chromemoly 4130 alloy. Maybe stainless steel would also work. Is it difficult to fabricate brackets like this? because I would think, though I haven't checked yet, that a local metal working shop should be able to make them for a reasonable fee.

The rack sells for about $125.00, and I think it would look decent. Anybody else have any experience making brackets, or putting a rear rack on a Bonneville that already has the high sissy bar?
