One of my buddies the other day suggested that I should get the high Scrambler pipes for my Bonneville. Has anyone done that conversion? If so, how did it work out? Does anyone know what they might cost? Sorry if this is a repeat topic.

check out the thunderbike scrambler pipes at newbonneville.com, they are sweet looking. Cost a little over $1000, but they look the biz.

I think you'd need a new R side cover and a bracket at the rear to hold them on.

I wouldn't get those bits from Triumph though, I'd make 'em, It'd cost you an arm and and a leg to get them from Triumph.

I've got the Norman Hyde Scrambler High Pipe system on my 2002 T100. I absolutely love them. Installation was simple. Do note that this system is not designed to accommodate a passenger. The mufflers span over the rear shocks where a passenger's legs would be and the mufflers are not shielded (however the head pipes are).

The sound is glorious. The closest to a true Brit bike sound I've heard to date. The header pipes and shield get warm, but not too hot as to be uncomfortable. Actually, on cold days, the heat is welcomed.

I can't help it, Maybe it's just me.
But ,I think the Scrambler pipes are the ugliest pipes
you could put on your bonny. They look like they belong
on a Honda.

Maybe you just can't help being an a$$hole. Didn't your parents ever tell you, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. And besides, the pipes look awesome.

A couple of notes:

1. The lug welded to the frame, a few inches aft of the throttle-side shock, supports the majority of the weight of the pipe assembly.

2. The right side cover pieces someone else mentioned.

3. The standard exhaust has a tab on the left muffler that is a stop for the side and (if you have it) center stand. A new stop could be fabricated, no doubt.

Apparently your parents didn't teach you.
And you are right they look awesome, if you want your
Bonnie to look like a Honda.

One of my parents specifically told me if that guy bonnevillebilly says any more derogatory comments about the Scrambler or it's pipes (of which he is guilty of doing many times) he should be called a mean unspecified insult. But perhaps it was too nasty of a thing to have said, and it is Christmastime, so I apologize, but please try to tone down your anti-Scrambler rhetoric in the future. You have to understand that not everyone shares your taste, and that it's not nice to insult other people's motorcycles.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas everyone.
