I think I recall seeing a post of a DIY airbox mod for NARK type cone filters but can't seem to find it. Does anyone know who posted this or can show me what to do? SCC tried explaining it to me verbally but it would help to have some pics.

I was going to edit this photo and add some text in it but I think if you see this you'll get what I tried to explain to you the other day a little easier.

This photo is from the left side of the box, I removed the side cover, the uni filter...etc. Notice the area at the top where the battery sits, you can see the mounting tab's at the top where it bolt's onto the bike.

If you were to take a dremel tool, and cut away everything except for the area that hold's the battery itself, and then re-install that "battery box"...you'd be all set.

If your feeling uncertain of doing this yourself, I'd be happy to help you out...or even do it for you if you like. If you need anything else let me know man.

SC

Thanks a million. I think I'm starting to get the idea. There's another recent post where a Scrambler airbox was cut away without removing it from the bike. I think once I get the old carbs off I'll take a look and see if this is something I think I can tackle. May not happen until after the holidays though.

If I get nervous I'll let you know. Nice to know there's help out there.

Look fo rthe TommyTurbo ait box mod. He had an entire how to with pics included. I used it and it worked great. I have a pair of K&N cone filters and a great tool storage box to boot. If I can find the link I'll post it.

PM me, I still have the everything he e-mailed me on the how to air box cut up. His instructions that I followed and his pics. I can e-mail them to you. I'm off work for a week so if I e-mail them it would be a slow painful dial up process, but can be done.

Anyone need my old airbox to play with, out of an '05 T100? A measly $40, shipped to your door, CONUS?

I hit my air box with a Sawzall and never looked back. Easier than all that tire dropping stuff.
