Hi, this is my first post here as I bought my T100 two weeks ago. I have a couple of questions I wonder if any one help me with. First my headlamp seems to be aimed very high although the wires are pulled so tight in the casing any attempt to lower the beam it returns to the original position. The bolts in the side are tight but the casing is rubber mounted. Is there any adjustment screws on the lens its self? and also does any one use the steering lock? is it any good? I have a disk lock but there is no where to put it on the Bonnie. My last bike, Honda VFR had a (small) space under the seat but there is no such luxury here.
Having said that I haven't had so much fun on a bike for ages, since I got rid of the BSA C15 in fact.

My headlight beam seemed high too, when I bought the bike. It didn't really want to stay lower, either, when I adjusted.

I had to open the headlight shell to plug in the tachometer wire, and I had to undo the two bolts to install the flyscreen, which I did at the same time. When I reassembled, I lowered the beam.

If you open the headlight shell and fiddle with the wires a bit, you might be able to pull out enough slack to lower it. You probably need less than a centimeter.

Since then, I've decided to raise the headlight beam a bit, put in a brighter bulb, and lube the speedo cable, so I'll be at it again on a warmish day or more likely next spring.

If you adjust the headlight without loosening it, the rubber will just return it to the original position. Loosen the side bolts & re-aim. Then it will stay put.

seriously - whats with the highbeam pointing at the stars? went for a ride last night cause its coming to an end for the year. I found myself out in the middle of nowhere. I dont think i have ever used my highbeam so after reading this thread i decided to use. it would be great if i was driving up hill but seriously sucked otherwise.

Friend of mine has fitted a Cibie headlamp ( one used in the 1970's MGB) and fitted a brighter bulb and says it's a lot brighter and easier to adjust. I'm doing the mod this winter instead of polishing the critter every day.

Thanks for the advise guys, I have now (for the time being) got a headlamp that will light the road and not the tree tops.

Cheers,
Bob

go to your local auto parts store and buy this:

Sylvania (or other manufacturer) H6024 bulb which includes the bulb/reflector/etc all sealed up just like the stock unit.

It costs about 12-15 dollars and is at least 3 times brighter than stock. The whole deal to switch it out should take about 30-45 minutes, even if you're not technically gifted.

Very much worth it, heck it's less than 20 bucks, especially if you ride at night.

I removed my headlight and installed a Sylvania 6024 automotive headlight. Made all the differance in the world.
I used to be stationed at RAF Sculthorp in the late 60's and lived in Kings Lynn.

I have the Cibie with the H4 bulb. I installed a 55-100 watt bulb. I have more light than I can use. Want to borrow some? I really need to install a relay for the extra wattage.
