Any one out there have the 904 big bore kit installed
in there 790 motor?
I'd like to hear some input on how much stronger she feels.
And if you think the gains are worth all the $$$

I have been thinking about having it done in the not to far
future.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Bill

Check out This thread look at the first dyno sheet there, it's my '06 with a 904 kit, predators, ecu, airbox removal, a/i removal, 18 tooth sprocket.

Stock head and carbs.....you wont be disappointed.

BTW....on the second sheet on that thread the rpm's are not properly scaled...the bike went to 8000 rpm's during the run.

Those look like some pretty impressive numbers.
I'm thinking once I rack up a few more miles on the bike
I may have it done. I'm guessing the kit plus the labor
will run me around $1.200 to $1,500
That's a lot cheaper then buying a new one . Beside the
fact I could never part with my 2001 Bonny.
Do you think that big sh** eaten grin on your face when
you crack the throttle is worth the $$$ ???

Yea it's worth it, adding the 904 kit gave me roughly 10/15 more horses and a healthy gain in torque. I added my kit after the bike only had roughly 4000 miles on it...no regrets.

I opted for the BC kit as it had nikasil coated liners, similar to the factory setup...rather than the wiseco kit. It cost me...but nothing's too good for my baby.

If you really want a performance gain...add carbs.

SCC-do you think that the 35mm Kehins can give what the Mikunis do? How about those $1200.00 ones sold by BC?

I looked at the B.C. kit and the wiseco kit, and with bc. kit
being almost double the price. I think I'd opp for the wiseco
kit. I was also looking at the 988 kit but, that looked to be
to much involved with changing the connecting rods.
I'm sure when I add the kit I won't stop there, I'll be looking
to beef up the carbs.
Thanks for the input.

I wouldnt opt for the fcr's only because if I'm gonna spend that kinda money I'm gonna get the mikuni's.

Besides...the mikuni's come with airbox elim and billet intakes.

I'm curious BonnevilleBilly, do you know who you are going to get to do the work for you? I'm considering a big bore kit myself, but I'm not sure who to get to do it here in Mass. The service manager at a shop in Somerville didn't even know there was a big bore kit available for the bonnie , so they are out.

have a good one,
JD
