Here's my plan: swap out the stock bars on Bonnie with NH M-Bars with Napoleon bar-end mirrors. To accommodate the bar-end mirrors, I would be buying the M-Bars without bar-end plugs. But after burning through two hours or so of my work day reading various posts about M-Bars, vibration, etc., I'd like to do something to reduce/eliminate vibration when I do the install. Here are my questions:

Has anyone used a standard bar snake with the M-Bars, and will it fit inside the M-Bars? (Since I'd be buying the plug-less M-Bars, I assume there'd be nuthin' stopping the snake from sliding through.) If you've used the standard bar snake with the M-Bars, did it help much? I've read posts on the liquid bar snake used with the plug-in M-bars, and some claim it helps, others believe it's a waste of time.

Are there any other effective bar-end weights to use with the M-bar/Napoleon setup? Reviews of home-spun remedies like silicon, sand, wax, lead shot, etc. seem pretty mixed.

I've got m-bars and the emgo mirrors (Bellacorse) on my 04. I found the vibration was ~less~ with this setup compared to stock. Perhaps a bit more at 55-60 in 5th but less from 65-75 (indicated).

Hey Guys. So i just did my first real mod on my 07 black...installed M-bars and Napolean mirrors. The bars are amazing, they feel so much better than the stockers. The mirrors are great too, I can actually see beyond my shoulder. The only problem I have is vibration.

I can tell an object is behind me, but every things is blurred, bouncing and double vision. A set of headlights from the car behind me, appear in the mirror like 4 rings of fire (tracers).

The M-bars themselves do not seem to have any more vibration than the stock bars. In fact, I left the stock mirrors on for a couple days before adding the Naps. The stock mirrors were solid, no vibrations.

I'm guessing the Napolean vibrations has to do with my mounting procedure. Since the mirrors were made for 7/8" bars, and the M's are 1", I had to shim the expansion bolt for the mirrors to hold. To shim, I used a piece of clear tubing I had in the garage (5/8" ID sliced in half to give a top and bottom shim).

It seems others indicate no vibrations with the Nappy M's. Any ideas on a better shim solution? Or has anyone found a larger expansion bolt so shims aren't required?

Cheers and Gears!

stone guard

Hi. Love the look of your bike, might look into same bars and mirrors for my '07 T100. Love the stone guard (the webbing over the light right?). Where can I get one? thanks!
